Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel Contract

Location: Pomona, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Monday to Friday, 07:00-17:00 or 07:30-17:30
  • Call Requirement: 5 weekday nights and 1 full weekend every 6 weeks (7 shifts in a 6-week schedule)
  • Average Daily Census: 7-15 cases
  • Work Locations: May float between Mainland and Atlantic City campuses as needed
  • Uniform and Parking: Uniform provided upon arrival; parking available at each facility

Required Experience and Skills

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

  • Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 1 year based on specialty requirements and preferred certifications

  • Experience Required:

    • Interventional Radiology (IR), Scrub, and Special Procedures experience required
    • Hybrid OR experience desired
  • Certifications:

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NJ State License (can be obtained prior to start)
    • ARRT VI certification preferred
  • Prior Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)


Certifications and Competencies

  • ACLS and BLS certifications required (AHA standards)
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP for RRTs)
  • Pass/Fail “In House Skills Assessment” during orientation (contract may be cancelled if failed)
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required for nurses (except OR and Case Managers)
  • Competency exams specific to unit assignment
  • Core Mandatories/Inservice Training with testing and passing score of 80% or above, updated annually
  • NIH Stroke Certification required for RNs in certain units (ER, ICU, etc.)

Licensure and Verification

  • NJ State License verification required within 30 days of start
  • ARRT certification and NJ Rad Tech license required for Radiology Techs
  • Primary source verification for licenses and certifications

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam (medical clearance) within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually (not required for Lab Techs or Sterile Processing Techs)
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required (October 1 - March 31) with medical/religious exemptions accepted upon approval
  • 10-panel drug test within 60 days of start

Background and Compliance

  • Background check within 30 days of start, including 7-year search and international search if applicable
  • Education verification required
  • Employment history verification covering 2 years prior to start
  • References: 2 current references from supervisors or educators within past 2 years
  • Skills checklist appropriate to assigned unit completed within last 12 months
  • Performance evaluation updated annually by agency
  • Signed HIPAA statement and orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
  • Various facility-specific documents and job description acknowledgements required

Additional Notes

  • Call is a requirement for this position
  • Hybrid OR experience is desired but not mandatory
  • Locals accepted with a rate differential (not relevant for job consideration)
  • Uniform and parking provided
