Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Cartersville, Georgia
Contract Length: 14 weeks


Job Details

Assignment Expectations

  • Holiday Work:
    • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it.
    • If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both.
    • If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work 2 of them.
  • Major Holidays Include:
    Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
  • Orientation: Bi-weekly schedule; full compliance required to start on time. Delays in compliance push start by 2 weeks.
  • Locals Accepted: Yes, at same rate

Required Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs in critical care and related specialties.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for RNs.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required if working in PACU/Pre-op/Endo/CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), ER.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required if applicable to specialty.
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire if applicable.
  • State License: Must be licensed in Georgia.
  • NURSYS Verification: Annual verification required within 30 days prior to start.
  • Competency Exams:
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required for RNs.
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for Telemetry, ICU, ER, and related units. Three attempts allowed; failure results in cancellation.
    • Color Blind Testing required for all candidates.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification. No pending background checks allowed at start.
  • Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start).
  • Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start.
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; no pending results allowed. Instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions.
  • TB Testing: Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months; TB questionnaire required annually.
  • Immunizations:
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer required.
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required.
    • Hepatitis B: Series, antibody titer, or signed declination required.
    • Flu Vaccine or Declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31).
  • References: Two clinical references required.
  • Skills Checklist: Must be updated within the last 12 months.
  • Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process.

Additional Notes

  • Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment).
  • Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time.
  • Facility-specific policies on dress code and code of conduct must be reviewed and acknowledged prior to start.

This opportunity is suitable for Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of experience, including those new to travel nursing.
