Description
Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology (Travel/Contract)
Location: Midland, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Normal working hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
- May be required to stay until 7:00 PM 1-2 times per month
- Possible Saturday coverage from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- No on-call required
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiology / Cardiology specialty
- Previous travel experience preferred (not required)
Licensing
- Texas state license must be in hand prior to start
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for ER, Interventional Radiology, Pediatrics, PACU, Allied roles
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – Required for Antepartum, L&D, Mother-Baby, NICU
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Required for ER
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – Preferred for L&D (Intermediate or Advanced AWHONN)
- NIH Stroke Certification – Required for all clinical positions (not required for Allied)
- Tech Certification Verification – National certification required within 30 days of start (specific certifications depend on role, e.g., ARRT, NBSTSA, CDR, ARMDS, etc.)
- State License Verification – Required within 30 days of start for Allied/Non-RN candidates
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 10-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start, including SSN trace and all locations lived/worked
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Education verification required for Cath Lab, CVOR, L&D roles
- Facility-specific confidentiality, security, drug screening, TB questionnaire, and compliance forms must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Annual background check renewal required for travel candidates
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
- Immunizations required (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing):
- Rubeola (Measles) – Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Mumps – Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Rubella – Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B – Positive titer or series (3 doses) required
- Varicella – Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history of chickenpox required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start
- Flu vaccination or agency declination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; additional onsite drug screen during orientation
- N95 Fit Mask test within 1 year of start (PAPR not accepted)
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- General Competency Exam within 1 year of start
- Age-Specific Competency Exam within 1 year of start
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references within 3 years of start
- Copy of resume or employment application required
- Skills checklist updated annually
This position offers a structured schedule with no on-call duties and requires a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience. Candidates must hold a valid Texas license and meet comprehensive certification, background, health, and compliance requirements prior to starting the contract.
