Job Opportunity: Mammography Technologist (Mamo Tech)

Position Details

• Setting: High Volume Clinic
• Shift Schedule:

  • Monday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (First week 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM for training)
  • Tuesday to Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Thursday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Patient Age Group: Adults, Geriatrics

Experience & Certification Requirements

• Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year in specialty
• Required Certifications:

  • ARRT (Radiography)
  • ARRT (Mammography)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Additional Required Skills: As per job requirements (Mammography-specific skills)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required

Orientation & Training

• Orientation sessions held bi-weekly
• Scrub color: Hot Pink
• Flu vaccine is mandatory; no exemptions or declinations accepted

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background Checks:

  • Must be completed within 90 days of start
  • Includes SSN trace, county searches, nationwide and international checks if applicable
  • Education verification required for Radiology/Cardiology specialties
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months
  • Immunizations:

    • Flu vaccine (seasonal, mandatory)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (vaccines or positive titers, no exemptions)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella (vaccines or positive titer)
    • Polio vaccine or attestation
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (no instant tests)
• References: Two professional references required from employment within last 12 months (one must be a supervisor)
• Employment Application: Required with 7 years of work history

Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO certifications as applicable (refer to unit specifics)
• Mammography-specific CEUs required:

  • 40 hours training in Mammography
  • 25 supervised mammograms
  • 8 CEUs of initial training in 2D and 3D Mammography
  • 15 CEUs in the last 2 years (all Mammography)
  • Documentation of 200 mammograms in the last 12 months, broken down by month
• Pass/Fail testing on tech knowledge during orientation (passing grade 80%)
• Competency exams and color blind testing (if applicable)

Additional Notes

• Candidate must set up a facility-specific guest account prior to clearance to access orientation and work systems
• Competency checklists must be completed within 3 weeks after start date
• Online orientation modules must be completed prior to starting orientation
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training provided during orientation for applicable units
