Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Newnan, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Unit Details

• Patient Diagnoses include Orthopedic, Bariatric, Renal & General Surgery, Abdominal pain, CHF Exacerbations & Renal
• Weekend Schedule: Every Other Weekend
• Call: None
• Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years
• First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)

Holidays

• If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
• If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
• If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work two of them
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day

Compliance & Orientation

• Full compliance required to start on time
• Orientation push back of 2 weeks if not compliant due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs in specified specialties
• BLS (Basic Life Support): Required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required if working in PACU/Pre-op/Endo/CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), ER
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): Required if applicable
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire (no renewal required)
• State License: Must be licensed in Georgia
• NURSYS Verification: Annual verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Tech Cert Verification: National certification verification if applicable

Required Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs)
• Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
• Competency Exam (required for Nursing and Allied by Aya)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Card tele/step-down, ICU, PCU)

Health & Background Requirements

• Physical Exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: Within 12 months of start date; can start with TB test pending if TB Questionnaire on file
• TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
• Immunizations:

  • Rubeola (Measles): 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
  • Mumps: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
  • Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending
• Flu Vaccination or Declination: Required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)

• Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of start
• Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process
• References: 2 clinical references required by Aya
• Skills Checklist: Updated within 12 months
• Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process
