Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Newnan, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Unit Details
- Patient Diagnoses include Orthopedic, Bariatric, Renal & General Surgery, Abdominal pain, CHF Exacerbations & Renal
- Weekend Schedule: Every Other Weekend
- Call: None
- Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
Experience Requirements
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years
- First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)
Holidays
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
- If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work two of them
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance required to start on time
- Orientation push back of 2 weeks if not compliant due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs in specified specialties
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required if working in PACU/Pre-op/Endo/CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), ER
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): Required if applicable
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire (no renewal required)
- State License: Must be licensed in Georgia
- NURSYS Verification: Annual verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Tech Cert Verification: National certification verification if applicable
Required Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
- Competency Exam (required for Nursing and Allied by Aya)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Card tele/step-down, ICU, PCU)
Health & Background Requirements
- Physical Exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: Within 12 months of start date; can start with TB test pending if TB Questionnaire on file
- TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
- Immunizations:
- Rubeola (Measles): 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Mumps: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending
- Flu Vaccination or Declination: Required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)

- Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of start
- Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process
- References: 2 clinical references required by Aya
- Skills Checklist: Updated within 12 months
- Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process
