Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Newnan, Georgia
Contract Length: 16 weeks

Unit Details

• Patient Diagnoses: General medical surgical & Peritoneal dialysis
• Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
• Call: None
• Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
• Minimum Experience: 1 year (first-time travelers accepted)

Work Requirements

• Must work major holidays if they fall during assignment:

  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving/Black Friday
  • Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
  • New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to orientation schedule
• Orientation hours vary by contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)

Experience & Travel Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Required Years of Experience: 1 year
• Prior travel experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for many specialties including medical surgical
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required if working in PACU/Pre-op/ER or pediatric areas
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required if applicable
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire (no renewal required)
• State License: Must have valid Georgia RN license
• NURSYS Verification: Annual verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Tech Cert Verification: National certification verification if applicable

Competency Exams

• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs)
• Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Tele, ICU, ER, and similar units)
• General Competency Exam (required for nursing staff)

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months (can start with TB test pending if questionnaire on file)
• TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
• Immunizations:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer required
  • Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or signed declination required
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant acceptable if close to start date)
• Flu Vaccine or Declination: Required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)

Additional Requirements

• Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of start, including education verification
• Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process
• References: 2 clinical references required
• Skills Checklist: Must be updated within 12 months
• Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process
• Facility-specific policies: Candidates must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start

Notes

• Locals accepted at same rate
• Manager review of candidate profile within 48 hours after confirmation
• Maximum Return to Office (RTO) time: 7 days

This position is suitable for RNs with at least 1 year of experience, including first-time travel nurses, who are comfortable working in a general medical surgical and peritoneal dialysis unit with every other weekend schedule and no call requirements.
