Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Wichita Falls, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Start date strongly preferred: January 12
  • Must be agreeable to floating between Med Surg, PCU, and ER holding units
  • ICU experience is a bonus but not required
  • Schedule: 84 hours biweekly with a 72-hour guarantee

Experience Requirements

  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – as applicable
  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) – as applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification – as applicable
  • State License Verification (within 30 days of start)
  • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) (within 30 days of start)

Background and Compliance

  • Background check required within 1 year of start (includes SS Trace, County searches for last 7 years, Nationwide, Sex Offender)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check required within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check required within 30 days of start
  • Drug testing required (Negative 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start)
  • Competency exams (Medication Test/Pharmacology and general Competency Exam) as applicable

Health Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract)
  • Immunizations and titers required (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract unless otherwise noted):
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (2-step PPD or equivalent within 1 year)
    • Rubeola (Measles) – 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
    • Mumps – 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
    • Rubella – 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
    • Hepatitis B – positive titer, series, or declination
    • Varicella – 2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox
    • Flu seasonal vaccination required (with medical/religious exemption option)
    • COVID vaccination documentation required

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete facility-specific documents and acknowledgments prior to start (e.g., parking policy, confidentiality, code of conduct, orientation)
  • 2 professional references required within 3 years of start
  • Resume or employment application required
  • Skills checklist required and must be updated annually

Notes

  • Candidate must be flexible to float across multiple units
  • ICU experience is a plus but not mandatory
  • Schedule guarantees 72 hours biweekly with potential for 84 hours
