Job Opportunity: Nuclear Med Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Mooresville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Nuclear Medicine Technology within Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-Call Requirement: Every other weekend
- Scrubs Color: Black
- Orientation: Bi-weekly sessions
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Local Candidates: Accepted (within 75 miles)
Experience & Certification Requirements
- Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years in specialty
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA certified
- CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Nuclear Medicine certification
- Required Skills: Experience with GE Equipment
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Health & Safety Requirements
- Flu vaccination is mandatory; no exemptions or declinations accepted
- Fit Mask (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with specific documentation if history of positive PPD)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination every 10 years
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or positive antibody titers required; no exemptions
- Hepatitis B vaccination/titer or declination documentation
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer required
- Seasonal flu vaccination required for new candidates starting October through March
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (no instant tests)
Background & Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, including SSN trace, county searches, alias searches, sex offender, international searches if applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 90 days of start
- Education verification: Must have graduated from an AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine Technology training program
- Transcript/Diploma required for CT Tech (not applicable here)
- Facility-specific competency checklists (CBOs) to be completed within 3 weeks after start
- Employment application and 7 years of work history required
- Two professional references from employment within 12 months, at least one supervisor
- Skills checklist updated annually
Licensing & Certification Verification
- National certification verification required from ARRT or CNMT for Nuclear Medicine Tech
- State license verification where applicable
- Pass/fail testing on basic tech knowledge during orientation (passing grade 80%)
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO certifications as applicable per unit description (confirm if required)
Additional Notes
- Candidate must set up a Duke Guest Account prior to clearance to access orientation and work systems
- Online orientation modules must be completed prior to starting orientation
- Candidate must comply with all facility-specific onboarding and documentation deadlines
- Color blind testing required only for phlebotomists (not applicable here)
