Description

Job Opportunity: Pediatric Occupational Therapist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Saint Cloud, Minnesota
Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Pediatric Occupational Therapy)

Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, Dayshift
  • Hours: 8-10 hours per day, 40 hours per week
  • Shift Start: No earlier than 7:30 AM
  • Shift End: No later than 6:00 PM
  • Start Date: ASAP, any Monday
  • Patient Population: Pediatric outpatient with a wide variety of diagnoses
  • Required Skills:
    • Acute care
    • Outpatient clinic experience
    • Pediatrics
  • Preferred Experience: EPIC electronic health record system
  • Travel Requirement: Traveler’s primary residence must be more than 25 miles from the facility

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 1+ year pediatric OT experience preferred based on specialty and skills required

Certifications & Licensure

  • Must hold a valid state license appropriate for Occupational Therapy in Minnesota
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required or preferred depending on facility policies
  • Other certifications (ACLS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) not specifically required for this role

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 1 year of start, including:
    • 7-year search
    • Social Security trace
    • County and sex offender checks
    • Nationwide and international searches if applicable
  • GSA/SAM and OIG excluded provider checks required
  • Education verification required (diploma acceptable in lieu of third-party verification)
  • Minnesota DHS NetStudy Fingerprint clearance required prior to start (cannot start with fingerprints pending)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Immunizations and health screenings required:
    • Tdap vaccination (no religious declinations accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray per Minnesota state guidelines
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) proof of immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or positive titer or declination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declined)
  • Drug testing not required for client clearance but recommended within 1 year of start

Additional Requirements

  • Completion of facility-specific education modules during orientation (approx. 16 hours)
  • Candidate must complete Minnesota DHS NetStudy Fingerprint Questionnaire immediately after signing contract
  • Photo for badge with specific requirements (grey background, no selfies, JPG format)
  • Candidate must sign confidentiality agreement prior to start
  • Candidates must return badges on last day of assignment
  • References: Two references from recent employers within 2 years required
  • Skills checklist required for all clinical candidates

Notes

  • Facility dress code applies; RRTs wear dove gray scrubs (not applicable for OT but good to be aware)
  • COVID-19 vaccination and exemption policies apply; religious and medical exemption forms require approval and may take up to 3 weeks
  • Candidates must be prepared to travel to a livescan location for fingerprinting if not local
