Registered Nurse (CVOR) - Travel/Contract

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse with Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience
• Minimum Experience Required: 2 years CVOR (open heart experience required)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • EPIC experience required
• Schedule:

  • 4x10 hour shifts (06:00 - 16:30) with alternating days off
  • 1-2 call days per week with 30-minute response time
  • Every 3rd or 4th weekend (Friday 4:30 PM to Monday 6:00 AM)
  • Holidays as needed (expected to work at least 1 major holiday)
• Floating: As needed
• Response to Offer (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
• May care for COVID patients

Requirements & Compliance

Background Checks & Verifications

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
• PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance required within 5 years; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
• Pennsylvania State Police PATCH Search required within 1 year; must be finalized prior to start (cannot start with results pending)
• Education verification of highest level completed
• Employment application and most recent resume required
• 2 professional references within 3 years required
• Annual skills checklist required

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - may be required depending on unit
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification) as applicable per unit/job description
• State license primary source verification required
• NURSYS verification required for RN

Competency Exams

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required for all RNs except OR and Home Health
• Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required for all RNs except OR and Home Health

Health Documents

• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days (PPD not accepted)
  • Rubeola (Measles) - 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters as needed
  • Mumps - 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters as needed
  • Rubella - 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters as needed
  • Hepatitis B - positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters as needed
  • Flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required during flu season (declinations not accepted)
  • COVID-19 vaccine or valid exemption/declination accepted
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only, not required by facility)
• Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

Facility Specific Documents

• Passport-style photo for badge (professional appearance, solid background)
• Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work form (preferred within 90 days of start)
• Review and sign:

  • Confidentiality Agreement
  • Non-Employee Affidavit
• I9 Attestation and Documentation Attestation completed by agency
• Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules prior to start (PC/laptop only)
• New Hire Orientation required by end of first day
