Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Fayetteville, North Carolina
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Fayetteville, NC
- Facility Type: Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, every other weekend
- On-call Requirement: No
- Floating: Yes, must float within scope to meet facility needs between like units
- Block Scheduling: Open to accommodating
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (50-mile radius rule)
- First-time Travelers: Not accepted
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Return to Travel Restrictions: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler; system has a 2 contract limit (can only extend once), then must be gone for 6 months to return
- Guaranteed Hours: Call off policy of 2 shifts per 13-week assignment; after that, all contracted shifts are guaranteed

- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): AHA or Military only; required for ED, OR, Pediatric ED, PICU, and some ICU/PACU units
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for L&D, FCCU, NICU units
- NIH Stroke Certification: Must be updated annually; required for ED, Psych ED, ICUs, Step Down, Med Surg, L&D, Express Care
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required annually; advanced dysrhythmia required for all RNs; must pass with 80% or higher; failure after 3 attempts results in cancellation
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Required for awareness on multiple units; candidates have 3 attempts to pass with remediation steps between attempts
Background & Health Requirements
- Background Check: Required within 6 months of start; includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, and international search if applicable; convictions within last year or active cases disqualify
- Education Verification: Required; diploma or transcript acceptable if verification unavailable; military education/DD-214 accepted
- Physical Exam: Required within 1 year, signed by physician, NP, or PA-C; must be updated annually
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days required; instant drug screens not accepted
- Immunizations & Titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within last 10 years (no declinations accepted for new hires)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted for new hires)
- Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted for new hires)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
- TB Screening: Negative PPD, Q Gold, or T-spot within 1 year; chest X-ray if positive PPD; annual renewal required
- Flu Vaccination: Required year-round; medical or religious exemptions accepted with facility-specific forms; 2025-2026 flu season begins 8/1/2025; deadline for vaccination is November 10, 2025
- COVID-19 Vaccination: Not required but accepted if available

- Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year before returning as a traveler; system limits to 2 contracts with one extension allowed, then 6 months off before returning
- Locals: Not accepted due to 50-mile radius rule
