Job Opportunity: Surgical Services (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

• Schedule: 5x8 hour shifts with call required
• May float to main OR
• Occasional weekend coverage
• Must be certified (NCCT or NBSTSA)
• Level II Trauma preferred

Required Experience

• Specialty: Surgical Services

• State License verification required within 30 days of start
• NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) required within 30 days of start
• Tech Cert Verification - National required within 30 days of start
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for Telemetry RNs

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7 Year Background Check required within 1 year of start; update annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Education Verification (highest level) required
• State-specific checks for Texas (DADS Employability Status and Employee Misconduct Registry) required within 30 days of start
• Various facility-specific acknowledgments and agreements must be reviewed and signed prior to start

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical Exam required within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Fit Mask (3M 1860 Regular or 1860S) required; must be updated annually
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray required; must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Immunizations required (positive titer or vaccination documentation accepted):

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required within 10 years of start
• Seasonal Flu Vaccine required for 2025-26 season (Oct 1, 2025 - Mar 31, 2026); religious or medical exemptions accepted
• Drug Testing: Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start; facility conducts additional drug screen upon arrival

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references required within 3 years of start
• Resume/Application required
• Skills Checklist required and must be updated annually
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required as applicable
• Color Blind Testing (online Relias Ishihara version acceptable) required
• Competency Exam required as applicable
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required and updated annually
