Description
Job Opportunity: Surgical Services (Travel/Contract)
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Position Overview
- Requires completion of a privileging process prior to start (~120 days/3 months).
- Schedule: Day shifts.
- Call: 1 day per week and 1 weekend every ~4 weeks (subject to change).
- Floating: Within facility/scope of practice and to Main OR as needed.
- Minimum Experience: 5 years preferred; 3 years considered (clinical screening required). First-time travelers accepted.
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days.
- No holiday RTO accepted.
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may push start date by 2 weeks due to orientation scheduling.
- Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 16 hours for 16-week assignment).
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Surgical Services
- Minimum Years of Experience: 5 years (preferred), 3 years considered but 5 years is the higher requirement and should be noted.
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required; first-time travelers accepted.
Certifications & Licenses
- Required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for relevant specialties.
- BLS (Basic Life Support).
- Other certifications may be required depending on specific clinical area (e.g., PALS, NRP, EFM).
- State License: Must have valid Georgia state license if applicable (e.g., CRTs & RRTs).
- National Certification: Allied annual license verification if applicable.
- Certifications must be current and valid prior to start.
Compliance & Screening Requirements
- Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start, including criminal, sex offender, education verification, and others.
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending.
- Physical Exam: Required by agency within 1 year of start.
- TB Testing: Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months; additional testing required for privileging specialties.
- Immunizations:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer required.
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer required.
- Hepatitis B – Series, titer, or signed declination required. Additional compliance for privileging specialties.
- Flu Vaccine or Declination required during flu season.
- Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates.
- Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG competency, and others as applicable.
Additional Notes
- Clinical screening will determine final candidate fit.
- Privileging specialties (e.g., CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant, RNFA) have additional compliance and documentation requirements.
- Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance.
- Locals are accepted at the same rate.
