Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: York, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 10-hour shifts between 6 AM - 7 PM
- Schedule: Weekends and holidays as needed
- Call: Minimal call required, mostly to assist full-time staff
- Unit: Invasive Cardiology
- 4 Cardiac Catheterization Labs and 2 Electrophysiology Labs
- 23 prep/recovery bays
- Over 6,000 procedures annually including complex coronary procedures, VAD/ECMO, structural heart procedures (TAVR, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO/ASD closure, mitral valve clipping), complex atrial and ventricular ablations, pacemaker/ICD implant & explant, cardioversion, pulmonary artery pressure sensor implantation, peripheral intervention, and pulmonary embolectomy
- Patient Population: May include COVID patients
- Facility Environment: Tobacco and fragrance-free
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Registered Nurse)
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Skills: EPIC experience required
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Floating: Not applicable
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks:
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
- Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start, must be finalized prior to start
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
- Immunizations and titers: Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series), TDAP (within 10 years), Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (vaccines or positive titers with boosters as needed)
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; PPD not accepted
- Flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccine or valid exemption/declination accepted
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
- Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually
- Licensure & Certifications:
- State RN license verification (primary source)
- NURSYS verification for RN
- Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required
- Competency Exams:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required for all RNs except OR and Home Health
- References & History:
- 2 professional references within 3 years
- Most recent resume/application required
- Annual skills checklist required
- Facility Specific:
- Clear, professional photo for badge
- Review and sign facility policies including Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Commitment to Health & Wellness, Non-Employee Affidavit
- Completion of required Learning Management System (LMS) modules prior to start
- State Specific:
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search within 5 years, can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
- Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprinting within 5 years, can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
Additional Notes
- Candidates will be clinically screened for fit before manager interview
- Must be willing to stay until last patient is cared for
- Minimal call required, mostly to assist full-time staff
- Tobacco and fragrance-free environment; candidates should be notified prior to submission
This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with invasive cardiology skills and EPIC experience, comfortable working in a high-acuity cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology lab setting.
