Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist
Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- No weekend shifts required
- No floating to other departments
- Patient procedures include Screening/Diagnostic Mammograms, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, and DEXA Scans
- Equipment used: HOLOGIC Mammography and DEXA Scan
- Charting system: Syngo Radiology Information System
- Scrub color: Any color allowed
- First-time travelers accepted
Licensure & Certifications Required
- New Jersey Radiologic Technologist License (pending license acceptable)
- ARRT Mammography certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only, required for CCU and possibly other units
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only, required for all units except MTs/MLTs
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – required for pediatric-related units
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – required for NICU, RRT-NICU, Nursery, L&D, Postpartum/Mother-baby
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., NALS, EFM)
- State License copy and Primary Source Verification as applicable
- IV Certification required if previously worked in New Jersey hospitals (RNs only)
- NIH Stroke Certification required for AICU and ED specialties
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience preferred in Radiology/Cardiology specialty
- Acute care experience: Minimum 2 years required (per employment application requirements)
- Prior travel experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)
Compliance & Background Checks
- Criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including aliases and jurisdictions
- International background checks if candidate has lived or worked outside the U.S. in the last 7 years
- Background check must be completed within 30 days of start
- SAM and OIG searches required within 30 days of start
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam or fit-to-work statement from a physician (no annual update required)
- Tdap vaccine required
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or Tspot) within 3 months of start; follow-up chest x-ray if indicated
- TB questionnaire if applicable
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer required
- Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination required
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required
- Hepatitis C: Negative or non-reactive titer required
- Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required annually (medical and religious exemptions accepted with documentation)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within one year of start; on-site drug screen at assignment start
Orientation & Training
- Mandatory hospital orientation required
- Completion of assigned Cornerstone modules (~8 hours) prior to assignment start
- Medication and competency exams required for internal compliance
- Pass/fail testing for medication, EKG/Dysrhythmia, and IV therapy exams (with limited attempts allowed)
- IV Certification exam required if no prior proof of certification
- Candidates must complete all compliance documentation by the document deadline to avoid cancellation
Additional Requirements
- References: 3 required, including at least one supervisor-level reference
- Work history verification: Minimum 1 year prior to start date verified, allowing only 30-day gaps or less (New Jersey candidates)
