Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Dallas, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Rotating on-call schedule (may include evenings, weekends, holidays)
  • Local rate within 90 miles

Required Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for MS/Tele, ER, L&D, GI, Critical Care ICU/IMC, OR, PACU, PCU, IR & Cath Lab
  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Required except for SPTs
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for ER, PACU, GI Lab
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): Required for L&D and NICU
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or TCAR (Trauma Care After Resuscitation): Required for ER; preferred for Adult Critical Care (ICU) units
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Required for L&D
  • ENPC: Acceptable in lieu of PALS for ER
  • NIH Stroke Certification: Required for ER, CC, Med Surg, IR, IMC, PCU (valid for two years; may be obtained within 30 days of hire onsite)
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Must pass with 80% or higher; two attempts allowed
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for specific units; two attempts allowed; must be updated annually
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Required for all RNs and Cath Lab Techs; two attempts allowed

Licensure & Documentation Requirements

  • Verification of state nursing license required
  • I9 or Attestation required
  • Copy of valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport)
  • E-Verify or Attestation required
  • Background checks within 30 days of start, including:
    • 7-year county criminal background search for all locations lived/worked
    • Sex offender search
    • State police investigation for behavioral health
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Photo for badge (passport style, head and shoulders, clear background)
  • Signed Job Description prior to start
  • 2 professional references within 3 years of hire

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test completed onsite during orientation, updated annually
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination required
  • Negative TB test (TSpot or QGold) within 12 months; annual updates required
  • TB questionnaire annually after positive TB result
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B: Vaccine series and positive titer OR signed facility-specific declination form
  • Drug testing: 10-panel required within 30 days of start (no rapid screens)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
