Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Bend, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Requirements

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse
  • Years of Experience Required: 3 years
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required (first-time travelers with 3 years experience accepted)
  • Epic Experience: Required
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI acceptable
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI acceptable
    • CNOR preferred
  • Skills Required:
    • Hardstop skills in Ortho Trauma, Craniotomy, Trauma, Trauma Level II
  • On-Call Requirements:
    • Call 2 weeknights every 6 weeks
    • One weekend (Saturday and Sunday) 12-hour shifts (days or nights) every 1.5 months
  • Floating: Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs
  • Locals: Not accepted within 75-mile radius (proof of address required)
  • Pending License: Accepted on a case-by-case basis
  • Return to Office Restrictions: Maximum 7 total days in 13-week assignment

Background Checks & Verifications

  • 7-year criminal background check (updated annually) including SSN trace, counties lived/worked/school, FACIS L3, DOJ sex offender search, nationwide check
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 90 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 90 days of start
  • Education verification (highest level) with diploma or transcript on file
  • Primary source verification of state license
  • NURSYS verification for RN license

Competencies & Exams

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
  • Competency Exam (as applicable by profession/specialty)

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Passport-style photo for badge (must be submitted within 48 hours of signing and no later than 2 Wednesdays prior to start)
  • Completion of confidentiality, contractual, compliance/privacy, and emergency contact forms (time sensitive, same deadlines as photo)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years of start (given after age 19) or declination accepted
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year; for positive responders, negative chest X-ray within 5 years and annual TB questionnaire required
  • Annual TB questionnaire required
  • Positive titers or vaccinations required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B positive titer required (vaccine series alone not acceptable)
  • Negative 12-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (not required annually)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or agency declination/exemption required during flu season; masking required during high transmission
  • Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year of start and annually

Additional Notes

  • Weekend shifts are required
  • Floating within scope may be necessary
  • Locals within 75 miles are not accepted
  • Return to office restrictions limit time on-site during assignment
