Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Specialty: Registered Nurse (Rehab Nights)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Open to first-time travelers (prior travel experience NOT required)
Work Schedule
- Night shifts
- Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB), NIH Stroke Certification, CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) as applicable
Licensure & Verification
- Primary source online license verification required
- NURSYS verification required for RN licenses
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
- Education verification required (transcript or diploma accepted as placeholder if needed)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit test for masks within 1 year, renewed annually (fit test done onsite)
- Adult TDAP vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire for positive TB results, renewed annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
Competency & Skills Testing
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable (minimum 80% score)
- Color blind testing required (online version acceptable)
- Competency exams required as applicable (minimum 80% or Angoff score)
- Annual completion of Core Parts I, II, and III for subcontractors
Additional Requirements
- Clear headshot photo for badge
- Completion of employment application/resume
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
- 7-year work history verification required
Notes
- This position is suitable for nurses new to travel assignments.
- Orientation and EPIC training can be attended pending fingerprint clearance, but work on unit cannot begin until clearance is received.
