Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Specialty: Registered Nurse (Endoscopy and Pulmonary Procedures)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Must function independently in all areas of Endoscopy, including advanced procedures such as EUS and ERCP.
- Must be competent in pulmonary procedures including bronchoscopy and EBUS.
- Expertise in bariatric procedures and ION Robot preferred.
- May be assigned to an Emergency Team during events, requiring staying onsite or providing relief as directed.
- 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with on-call responsibilities for after hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Possible shift times:
- 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Must demonstrate the facility’s mission and values, putting patients first and functioning as a full-time employee would.
Required Experience
- Registered Nurse with expertise in Endoscopy and Pulmonary procedures.

- Sex offender search required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
- Education verification of highest level required if no state license.
- NURSYS license verification within 30 days of start.
- Competency exam specific to specialty required annually.
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start; must be initiated within 24-48 hours of offer acceptance.
- Physical exam within 12 months indicating good health required.
- Fit mask testing (N95) within one year of start; onsite fit testing available if needed.
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (for select specialties)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella – positive titer or completed vaccine series
- Hepatitis B – positive titer, completed vaccine series, or booster after negative titer
- Varicella – positive titer, completed vaccine series, or booster after negative titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30).
Additional Requirements
- Current/valid Driver’s License or government photo ID (color copy).
- Photo for badge: recent, full-color, passport-style photo with plain background.
- Employment application and updated skills checklist required.
- Must be willing to comply with emergency preparedness protocols, especially during hurricane season (June 1 – Nov 30).
Work Environment
- May be required to stay onsite during emergency events as part of an Emergency Team.
- Expected to behave and perform as a full-time employee of the facility.
This position is ideal for experienced Endoscopy RNs comfortable with advanced procedures and flexible to emergency assignments and on-call duties.
