Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Springfield, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (IMC/General Onsite Telemetry)
- Shift: 3x12 or 4x12 Night shifts (1845-0715)
- Average Daily Census: 38
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty (IMC/Telemetry/Cardiac Telemetry/Stepdown)
- First-timers Accepted: Yes
- Weekend Requirement: Work every other weekend
- On-call: No
- Floating: Yes, will float to like units as needed
- License: Must have active Illinois RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
- Return to Office Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
- Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions

- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Required Clinical Experience & Skills
Work Setting Experience:
- Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele)
- Cardiac Telemetry
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Observation Unit (DOU), Intermediate Care (IMC), Stepdown
Cardiac Monitoring & Emergency Response:
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Telemetry monitoring (unit and remote)
Cardiovascular Case Skills:
- Post Cardiac Angiogram, Post Myocardial Infarction (MI)
- Pre/Post Cardiac Catheterization and Surgery
- Sheath Removal, TR band management
Gastrointestinal:
- Feeding tube care and management
Genitourinary/Renal:
- Pre/Post Hemodialysis management
- Renal failure care
IV Therapy/Phlebotomy:
- Accessing ports, arterial line management
- Blood product administration
- Central line, peripheral line, PICC line care and management
- Starting IVs
Medication Management:
- Heparin protocols
- Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (with and without titration)
- PCA management
Neurological/Psychiatric:
- Care for CVA patients
- Experience with surgical drains
Respiratory:
- Chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac)
- External CPAP/BIPAP
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks
- Non-invasive airway management
Professional Skills:
- Isolation precautions
- Wound care and wound vac management
Preferred Experience:
- Previous charge nurse experience
- Cerner electronic health record experience (required)
- Teaching hospital experience
- Level I trauma center experience

- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
- References: 2 professional references required
- Competency exam required for clinical candidates
- Badge photo required before start
