Job Summary

• Collaborate with the healthcare team using evidence-based practice.
• Demonstrate accountability, respect for patients, families, and coworkers.
• Provide safe and optimal patient outcomes.
• Promote continuity of care through effective communication with interdisciplinary team and family.
• Direct support staff in the provision of care.
• Perform general nursing duties using critical thinking skills with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited RN program; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Iowa, in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification (Heart Code). New employees must certify within 3 months of hire.
• Current ACLS certification; new employees should obtain per policy guidelines.
• Nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• High degree of empathetic listening skills, tact, and kindness.
• Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Technical and critical thinking skills related to sound nursing judgment.
• Knowledge of nursing practices related to acute care.
