Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Telemetry)

Job Description

• Telemetry RN position with ASAP start required
• Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours (1845-0715)
• Every other weekend required (6 weekends per contract)
• Float within skillset required
• Locals within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience not required)

Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - Must be AHA or ARC certified
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required
• Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:

  • Minimum overall score of 80%
  • 100% score on lethal rhythms section

Competencies

• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Relias Dysrhythmia: Basics A exam) must be completed within 1 year of start and updated annually
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (score 80% or higher) within 3 years of start
• Color Blind Testing (online or in-person)
• General Competency Exam (score 80% or higher) within 3 years of start

Schedule

• 3x12 hour shifts, primarily evenings/nights (1845-0715)
• Every other weekend required (6 weekends per contract)

Required Documents & Compliance

• I9 and E-Verify attestation required upon hire
• Valid State License required prior to start
• Criminal Background Check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start and monthly thereafter
• Education verification of highest degree required by position
• Drug Screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
• Physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Varicella documentation or titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)

Additional Requirements

• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
• Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules (Sitels) before hire date
• Clear photo for badge required

Notes

• Float duties required within the RN’s skillset
• Locals within 60 miles may be eligible for different pay rates (not detailed here)
• Prior travel experience is not required for this position

This position is ideal for Telemetry RNs with at least 2 years of experience looking for a 13-week travel contract in Maryland with a reputable healthcare system.
