Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position
Location: Shreveport, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: 07:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Rooms: 5
- Call Requirements:
- Weekend call approximately every 6th weekend
- Weekday call from 5:30 PM – 6:30 AM, roughly 4 weekdays per month
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
- Prior Travel Experience: Not accepted for first-time travelers (prior travel experience required)
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only, RQI accepted
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Preferred Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- ARRT VI (ARRT in Vascular Interventional Radiography)
Important Job Expectations
- Upon starting, you may be assigned to an "Emergency Team" with an expectation to stay at the facility until the event passes or be part of the relief team.
- You must be comfortable with emergency event assignments as directed by your unit manager.
Required Credentials & Compliance
- Licenses: Active Louisiana state license or Compact License required upon submission. Renewals must be in process if expiring within 30 days of start.
- Background Checks:
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- Sex offender search required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- Education Verification: Primary or 3rd party verification of highest education level required (not applicable if state license is held)
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start, initiated within 24-48 hours of offer acceptance; instant screenings not accepted
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 12 months indicating good health
- Fit mask testing (N95) within one year of start; onsite fit testing available if needed
- Immunizations/vaccinations or proof of immunity required for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (for select departments)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive IGG titer or completed vaccine series)
- Hepatitis B (positive antibody titer, vaccine series, or booster)
- Varicella (positive IGG titer, vaccine series, or booster)
- Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 12 months, updated annually; chest x-ray and TB questionnaire required if positive
- Seasonal flu vaccination, declination, or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30)
- Photo: Full color, passport-style photo required within 24 hours of booking
Additional Requirements
- Competency Exam: Specialty-specific exam with minimum 80% score, updated annually
- Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Certification: Required, must be renewed annually
- Color Blind Testing: Required annually for lab staff
- Employment History: Resume/application required with 7 years of employment history and explanations for gaps
