Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position

Location: Nashua, New Hampshire
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: 8-hour day shift (7:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
  • Daily Caseload: Average 4 cases
  • Rooms: 1
  • Call Requirement: Yes
  • Float Requirement: None
  • Weekend Requirement: None

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum Years of Specialty Experience: 2 years
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required; unit accepts first-time travelers depending on experience

Required Skills & Certifications

  • Skills:
    • Scrub, Balloon Angioplasty, PCI, Stents, Thrombectomy
    • Impella insertion, Left and Right heart catheterization
    • Inpatient care, Obtaining vitals, Rhythm interpretation
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (AHA Provider)
    • ARRT
    • RCIS or RRT (either accepted)
    • New Hampshire State License

Preferred Skills & Certifications

  • Monitor, Ablations, Pacemaker/defibrillator device placement
  • Hemodynamic Monitoring, Arrhythmia Induction, Baseline Measurements
  • Cardiac Mapping, Cardioversion, Conduction Studies, Electrophysiology Evaluation
  • Insertion/Programming of AICDs, Pacemaker Insertion
  • Experience with EPIC and Mac Lab systems

Unit Details

  • Elective and emergent PCI
  • Pacemaker and ICD implants
  • IABP, Impella, STEMI patients
  • Monitoring skills are a plus

Orientation & Documentation

  • Orientation: Dependent on experience
  • Documentation System: EPIC
  • Scrubs: Any

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Background check required within 30 days of start, including:
    • Social Security Verification
    • National Sex Offender Registry Search
    • National Criminal Search
    • FACIS L3
    • Education Verification
    • Criminal county/state searches (excluding NH counties; NH State Police Search required instead)
    • BEAS State Registry (NH placements only)
  • Drug Screen: 10-panel within 14 days prior to start (with a 7-day grace period)
  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year prior to start
  • Fit Mask Test: Annual requirement for clinical candidates (N95 or equivalent masks)
  • Immunizations & Titers:
    • Tdap (within last 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (True 2-Step PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 1 year)
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (titers or vaccines as applicable)
  • Flu Vaccination: Required during flu season (Oct 31 - Apr 1); medical and religious exemptions allowed with proper documentation
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required for all clinical travelers via RespSafety virtual questionnaire

Competency & Testing Requirements

  • Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing for Southern New Hampshire Hospitals units
  • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for internal purposes
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Required for awareness and compliance on specific units

References & History

  • Two current professional references within the last 3 years, including one from a supervisor or charge RN
  • Employment application and skills checklist required
  • Internal evaluation required annually for travelers with Aya or agency tenure of 1+ year

Additional Notes

  • SSA release and state-specific releases (NH, MA if applicable) required
  • Facility requires copies of professional licenses for states without paperless verification
  • Facility-specific immunization waiver forms available for medical or religious exemptions
  • Photo (passport style) required for badge issuance
  • Proof of auto insurance required for Home Health and Hospice Care candidates

This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic cardiac catheterization lab with a variety of interventional procedures and advanced cardiac monitoring. The unit supports both first-time travelers and experienced professionals.
