Description

Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology (Travel/Contract)

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Shift Details

  • Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only, RQI acceptable
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only, RQI acceptable
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA only, RQI acceptable
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – AHA NRP only
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – as applicable
  • Chemotherapy certification – as applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification – as applicable
  • State License verification (Indiana license pending acceptable with ETA 2 weeks)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of specialty experience in Radiology/Cardiology
  • Skillset includes Extremities, Abdomen/GI, Spine/Pelvis, Chest/Thorax, ER, OR, Level 1 Trauma Experience, Surgery/C-Arm
  • Equipment experience: GE & Siemens
  • Prior travel experience: Not required (First time travelers accepted)

Facility & Unit Information

  • Level 1 trauma center
  • Supports over 30 Operating Rooms (ORs)
  • 6 Intensive Care Units (ICUs)
  • 70+ bed Emergency Room (ER)
  • Approximately 700 inpatient beds

Call-In Policy

  • If a traveler calls in for a contracted shift:
    1. Must make up the day during the pay period if working 0.9 FTE
    2. If unable to make up during pay period (0.9 FTE), shift added at end of contract
    3. For 1.2 FTE, call-in shifts added to end of contract

Required Background & Compliance Checks

  • Background check within 90 days of start, including:
    • 7 years residence/work history
    • SSN Trace, County Criminal, Statewide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level III
    • Education verification (may be pending at start)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • Transcript/Diploma (official, clear copy)
  • Education verification by 3rd party (may be pending at start)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 12 months (3M N95 or Honeywell approved respirators)
  • Tuberculosis (TB) test within 1 year (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred but not required)
  • Rubeola (Measles): Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
  • Mumps: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
  • Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
  • Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or signed declination required
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31); no declinations accepted
  • Color blind exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score

Competency Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (not required for Techs or RRTs)
  • Unit competency exam
  • Color Blind Testing (Ishihara or equivalent)

Documentation & History Requirements

  • Minimum 2 references from recent employment verified within 2 years
  • Current employment application with explanation for any gaps over 30 days
  • Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
  • Application must cover last 7 years with all gaps accounted for

Orientation & Facility Specific Requirements

  • Completion of facility-specific forms and packets prior to start (time sensitive)
  • Mandatory RRT modules (if applicable) must be completed before orientation
  • HIPAA and safety manual acknowledgements required

This position is suitable for healthcare professionals seeking a travel contract in a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center with diverse case exposure and advanced equipment. First-time travelers are welcome.
