Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Mountain Home, Arkansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Provide direct patient care, medication administration, and sterilization in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
• Assist physicians with cardiovascular and special procedure studies/interventions.
• Act as patient advocate during procedures.
• Call schedule: 9-10 days per month, every second or third weekend of call.

Specialty & Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Required Experience: Cath Lab experience required; Interventional Radiology (IR) experience strongly preferred.
• Licensure: ADN and current Arkansas RN license in good standing or Compact State license.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA approved
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA approved
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required.

Compliance & Background Checks

• 7-year background check required within 6 months of start; annual updates required for direct candidates.
• National and state-specific sex offender checks within 30 days of start.
• Education verification required.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required for subcontractors).
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; annual TB questionnaire required regardless of TB result.
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or documentation of immunity/declination for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella
  • Influenza vaccination or facility-specific declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination documentation or exemption notification
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant tests not accepted.

Additional Requirements

• Safety Sensitive Designation per Arkansas Act 593 (Medical Marijuana regulations).
• Must complete facility-specific documents and orientation prior to start.
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency required as applicable.
• References: 2 professional references within 2-3 years of start.
• Work history verification for the past 2 years.

Summary

This is a travel/contract RN position requiring Cath Lab experience with a strong preference for IR experience. The role involves assisting with cardiac catheterization procedures and requires adherence to strict licensure, certification, background, and health compliance standards. The contract length is approximately 13 weeks with a call schedule of 9-10 days per month.
