Description
Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician (CST/ORT) - Travel Position
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Shift: Nights, 8:30 PM - 7:00 AM
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Summary
An integral member of the surgical team who supports surgeons throughout operations by preparing, providing, and caring for instruments and equipment while maintaining a sterile field.
Requirements
Education & Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduation from a school of Surgical Technology preferred
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Surgical Tech certification required
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital setting in the operating room or instrument care environment preferred
- Trauma experience required
Skills
- Knowledge of care and handling of surgical instruments and equipment
- Knowledge of sterilization and cleansing procedures
- Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English
Physical Requirements
- Heavy physical effort requiring standing, walking, or lifting most of the day
- Ability to speak, hear, and communicate verbally and in writing
Work Environment & Additional Information
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens; adherence to Universal Precautions and use of protective equipment required
- Weekend and on-call requirements to be discussed during the interview
