Registered Nurse (MS/Tele) - Travel/Contract Position
Location: Salem, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with strong Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele) or Intermediate Care (IMC) experience. This is a travel/contract role supporting a short-term acute care hospital with Magnet status, teaching designation, and Level II Trauma Center.
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in MS/Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- No first-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience required)
- Prior travel experience explicitly required: No first-timers accepted
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) through AHA required
- Experience with:
- Management of telemetry
- Interpretation of cardiac rhythms
- Management of dysrhythmias
- Oxygen protocols
- Non-invasive airway management
- Peripheral line care/management
- Isolation precautions and PPE
- Cardiac drips (nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone)
- Rapid response team activation
- Computerized documentation experience required
Work Schedule & Floating
- 12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend (not greater than every other)
- Patient ratios:
- RN: 1:4-6
- CNA: 1:6-13 (days), 1:10-13 (nights)
- Floating required within scope, including to a sister hospital (West Valley Hospital)
Licensure
- Pending Oregon license accepted (emergency license accepted)
- RTO (Return to Office) restrictions: any time off over 2 weeks requires approval

Background & Health Documents
- Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state and national checks
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and ongoing
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Drug testing: 10-panel within 90 days of start
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tdap (or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) titers or vaccines
- Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series (booster or declination if low titer)
- Varicella titer or vaccines
- Flu vaccine or signed declination (year-round)
Competency Exams
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam with passing score of 85% required
Documentation & Verification
- References: 2 within last 2 years showing 1 year in comparable specialty; at least one supervisory reference within last 12 months
- Skills checklist: Telemetry skills required for all RNs regardless of unit
- Education verification and licensure verification required within 30 days of start

- Client cancellation policy: up to 1 shift per 4-week assignment, 2 shifts per 8-week assignment, 3 shifts per 13-week assignment
