Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Experience Requirements
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year
- 1st time travelers accepted
- Prior travel experience: Not required

- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification
Work Setting & Unit Details
- Units: Medical-Surgical (MS), MS Telemetry, Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Floating required across MS, MS Tele, PCU units
- Nurse-to-patient ratio:
- PCU: 1:4-5
- MS, MS Tele: 1:5-6
- Electronic Health Record System: Epic (required)
- Other systems: Pyxis, SBAR
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
Schedule & Time Off
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum: 7 days
- Weekends: Every other weekend (approx. 6 weekends in a 13-week contract)
- Call: None
- Holidays:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
- If 2 major holidays, traveler expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays, traveler expected to work 2 of them
- Major holidays include New Year’s Eve/Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance required to start on time
- Non-compliance results in 2-week push back due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks)
Additional Requirements & Competencies
- Background check required within 30 days of start
- Education verification required (degree related to specialty)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required
- Color Blind Testing required (with alternative assessment if needed)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required for Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, ICU, PCU units (3 attempts max)
- Competency Exam required for nursing staff
- Physical exam required by agency (within 1 year of start)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (cannot start with results pending)
- TB testing (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months; TB questionnaire required annually
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
- Varicella
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
Documentation & Policies
- Must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
- References: 2 clinical references required by agency
- Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
- Work history verification of most recent employer required (can be pending at start with proof)
