Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU
Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse - ICU
- Required Years of Experience: 2 years in ICU (higher value confirmed)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-timers accepted, preferred no)
- Shift Requirements:
- Weekend shifts every other weekend required
- No on-call required
- Floating within scope to like units required
- Staffing Ratios: 1:2-3 patient ratio
- Scheduling: Open to block scheduling
- Locals: Not accepted (50-mile radius rule from main campus)
- License: Pending license not accepted
- Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
- Contract Limit: Maximum of 2 contracts (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning

Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification (must be updated annually)
Competency Requirements
- Must pass Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam annually via Relias
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required with a minimum score of 80%
- Candidates have 3 attempts to pass; failure results in cancellation with no exceptions
- EKG exam must be passed with no exceptions
Background and Health Requirements
- Background check required within 6 months of start (includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, and international search if applicable)
- Physical exam required within 1 year, updated annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Immunizations required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years)
- Rubeola (Measles) - titer or 2 vaccines
- Mumps - titer or 2 vaccines
- Rubella - titer or 2 vaccines
- Varicella - titer or 2 vaccines
- Hepatitis B - vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days required
- Flu vaccine required year-round; medical or religious exemptions accepted with facility approval
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but accepted if available

- Must provide a professional passport-style photo for badge (no large earrings, face jewelry, unnatural hair colors, or head coverings unless for religious reasons)

- Confidentiality and Information Agreement
- Patient Identification Agreement
- Conflict of Interest Questionnaire
- Staff Call Out Acknowledgement
- Corporate Code of Conduct Acknowledgement
- Policy Tech Access Acknowledgement
- Professional Appearance Acknowledgment
- Parking Registration (if driving)
- Computer Use Acknowledgement
- Completion of mandatory orientation modules prior to start (due Monday before start date)
- Flu policy review required annually
- Must comply with facility’s return staff and contract extension policies
Additional Notes
- Candidates must pass all required exams and certifications before starting
- Floating between like units within scope is expected to meet facility needs
- No local hires accepted due to 50-mile radius restriction
- Return staff and contract limits are strictly enforced
