Nursing Contract Opportunity - Hilo, Hawaii

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Requirements

  • Licensure: Must have an active Hawaii nursing license by the start of the assignment.
  • Certifications: BLS required; ACLS not required unless specified by agency.
  • Experience: 2 to 10 years of nursing experience required.
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Varied shifts, 36 hours per week after orientation. Must be flexible with shift lengths and days; no guaranteed hours or shift preference.
  • Orientation: Provided for each unit.
  • Unit: Transitional Care Unit (TCU), 32 beds.
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:
    • Day: 1 nurse to 8 patients with 1 aide to 6 patients
    • Night: 1 nurse to 8 patients
  • Floating: May float to Med Surg and Surgical Pediatrics units.
  • Equipment Used: Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes, tube feeding (NG/G-Tubes), trach care, PICC/PORT lines.
  • Dress Code: Professional nursing attire.

Additional Requirements

  • Must have proof of flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption prior to contract start.
  • Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for employee health appointment on Friday.

This position is suitable for nurses with solid clinical experience seeking a flexible, short-term contract in a hospital setting in Hawaii.
