Nursing Contract Opportunity - Hilo, Hawaii

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements

Licensure: Must have an active Hawaii nursing license by the start of the assignment.
Certifications: BLS required; ACLS not required unless specified by agency.
Experience: 2 to 10 years of nursing experience required.
Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.

Job Details

Schedule: Varied shifts, 36 hours per week after orientation. Must be flexible with shift lengths and days; no guaranteed hours or shift preference.
Orientation: Provided for each unit.
Unit: Transitional Care Unit (TCU), 32 beds.
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:
- Day: 1 nurse to 8 patients with 1 aide to 6 patients
- Night: 1 nurse to 8 patients
Floating: May float to Med Surg and Surgical Pediatrics units.
Equipment Used: Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes, tube feeding (NG/G-Tubes), trach care, PICC/PORT lines.
Dress Code: Professional nursing attire.

Additional Requirements

Must have proof of flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption prior to contract start.
Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for employee health appointment on Friday.

This position is suitable for nurses with solid clinical experience seeking a flexible, short-term contract in a hospital setting in Hawaii.
