Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Tech (Echo/Vascular Tech)

Location: Lubbock, Texas

Uniform/Dress Code

  • Licensed nursing personnel: solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs (no print tops except in Children’s Hospital and Women’s Services units)
  • Unlicensed personnel: solid hunter green uniforms or scrubs (no print tops except noted exceptions)

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – Current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society
  • Other certifications may be required based on clinical track and unit (e.g., Chemotherapy, EFM, IV Certification, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI)

Licenses and Verifications

  • State professional license(s) as applicable
  • NURSYS verification for RNs
  • Allied licensure verification as applicable
  • Education verification required for all candidates
  • Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
  • State-specific searches as applicable (e.g., Washington WSP/WATCH, OBRA Registry for CNAs)

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit mask test (annual, travel only)
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual update required)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
    • COVID vaccine or declination
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)

Competency and Skills Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
  • Competency exams required by specialty
  • Color Blind Testing if required by unit
  • Skills checklists updated annually for applicable units

Documentation and History

  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
  • Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment in specialty (6 months for CNAs) from supervisors
  • Clarification of any employment gaps or overlaps required

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required
  • Floating policy acknowledgement may be required (candidate may be asked to float to other Providence facilities nearby)
  • Completion of required WorkRamp training modules prior to start, including:
    • Core modules for profession
    • Specialty-specific modules if applicable
    • Annual regulatory modules
  • Epic access training modules may be required depending on region and specialty

Additional Notes

  • Parking is free in unrestricted spaces with designated employee/visitor lots
  • 48-hour approval for overtime is not granted
  • Background checks must be current and cleared before start
  • Some certifications and requirements may be deferred or audited based on clinical track or candidate status (e.g., non-clinical, remote)

This position is suitable for candidates with at least 1 year of experience in Echo/Vascular technology, including first-time travelers. The role requires flexibility for on-call and weekend shifts as needed, with no floating between units. Compliance with Providence Health and Services policies, certifications, and health requirements is mandatory.
