Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel Contract

Location: Teaneck, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Schedule: 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (Monday to Friday), 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
  • On-call requirements:
    • Weekday call from 6:30 PM to 8:00 AM
    • On call 1 week per month
    • Weekend call 1 weekend per month (Friday 6:30 PM through Monday 8:00 AM)
  • Holidays: 1 winter holiday and 1 summer holiday required
  • No floating to other units
  • Locals are accepted
  • First-time travelers accepted

Experience & Certifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required in specialty
  • Specialty experience required: Interventional Radiology and Special & Scrub Procedures
  • Equipment experience required: Fluoroscopy, Philips, Siemens, and Ultrasound
  • Certifications:
    • New Jersey State License (can be obtained prior to start)
    • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree required
    • ACLS and PALS preferred

Required Documents & Compliance

  • Copy of current Driver's License or State ID
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG within 3 months of start
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (AHA only, certification of completion accepted as placeholder)
    • BLS (AHA only)
    • PALS (AHA only, certification of completion accepted as placeholder)
    • Other certifications as applicable (e.g., NRP, EFM, tech certifications)
  • Competency exams: Unit-specific competency and pharmacology exams required, to be completed no later than 1 day prior to start
  • Safety and orientation acknowledgements including OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission annual training
  • Facility-specific documents: Job description acknowledgment, dress code, employee handbook, confidentiality & security agreement, safety brochure and quiz, license verification disclosure, and hire right release
  • Health documents:
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start
    • Fit mask (N95) testing onsite during orientation
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if past positive TB)
    • Positive titers required for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella
    • 10-panel drug screen including marijuana within 3 months of start
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (9/1 to 3/31)
    • COVID vaccination (1-2 doses) required; medical and religious exemptions allowed with onsite testing for unvaccinated travelers

Additional Requirements

  • 2 professional references within 7 years required (not necessarily supervisory)
  • Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist required
  • Work history verification required for all candidates, including advanced practice nurses/substitutes, with a minimum of 1 year prior to start date verified (New Jersey state mandate)

Notes

  • Hospital provides scrubs
  • Return to office (RTO) documentation required at time of submission
  • No floating to other units allowed

This position is suitable for healthcare professionals with at least 2 years of experience in Radiology/Cardiology, especially those skilled in interventional radiology procedures and familiar with specific imaging equipment. Prior travel experience is not required.
