Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel Contract

Location: Milford, Connecticut
Contract Length: 26 weeks (can do 13 weeks if preferred)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract


Job Details

  • Float between Main Campus and Milford Campus
  • Shifts:
    • Weekdays: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
    • Weekends: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • Rotating days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Call shifts:
    • Weekday call: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
    • Weekend call: 3:30 PM - 7:00 AM
  • No call at Milford Campus; call only at Bridgeport Campus
  • Siemens machine knowledge required
  • CT state license NOT required
  • Certification required

Required Experience

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - Required for Psychiatry/Behavioral Health, preferred for ER
    • NIH Stroke Certification (for RNs except certain specialties)
    • Tech Cert Verification (for surgical techs)
    • State License Verification (CT license not required for MRI Techs)
    • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)

Competencies

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 85%)
  • Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates on/after 8/2/2024, must score 80%)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for telemetry, MS/Tele, ER, ICU units)

Background Checks & Verifications

  • 7-year criminal background check required within 12 months of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
  • Education verification including foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
  • Employment application with 7-year work history, no gaps greater than 90 days
  • Work history verification for last 7 years (attestations not accepted)
  • Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for certain tech roles

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 12 months, updated annually (3M N95 preferred)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation
  • TB questionnaire updated annually
  • Immunizations or titers required:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (or declination within 1 year)
    • Varicella
  • Tdap vaccination highly preferred for pediatric specialties, labor/delivery, postpartum (declination acceptable)
  • 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/1 - 3/31)
  • COVID vaccination preferred

Facility-Specific Training & Documents (Required for RNs and applicable staff)

  • Stroke Education Module and Attestation (not required for pediatric specialties and NICU)
  • CLABSI Prevention Training
  • Preventing Pressure Injury Training
  • Language Services Training
  • CAUTI Education Training (except PICU, NICU, Psychiatry/Behavioral Health)
  • Patient Transportation with Oxygen Education
  • Suicide Risk and Environmental Assessment Training
  • Pyxis ES MedStation Modules (not required for some hospitals)
  • Baxter Pump Interoperability Training
  • Patient Bedside Rounding Module (except OR, Behavioral Health, Ambulatory, ER/ED)
  • Ventricular Assist Device Awareness (not required for some hospitals)
  • AME Blood Administration Module (except Case Managers, Behavioral Health/Psych, Home Health)
  • New Employee Orientation Module
  • 21st Century Cures Act Module (required for many clinical roles, not required for some techs and home health)
  • ED Handbook (for ED/ER RNs only)
  • eCart Training Module (not required for pediatric, periop/OR, outpatient, case managers, home health)
  • Chaperone Policy Training (required for RNs and Allied staff)
  • EMU Caring Course (required for EEG Techs)
  • Vaccination Booster Medical Exemption form if applicable
