Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Location: Greer, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele)
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:6
  • Start Date: January
  • Weekend Requirement: As needed
  • Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
  • Local Radius Rule: 75 miles (locals not accepted)
  • Pending License: Accepted if obtained before start
  • Guaranteed Hours: Based on signed contract hours
  • On-call Requirement: One of the following is required:
    • 2 on-call shifts per 6 weeks
      OR
    • 2 additional shifts per 6 weeks

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum Years of Specialty Experience: 2 years (1+ year may be considered)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
  • First-time travelers: Accepted

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or RQI acceptable
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or RQI acceptable
  • NIH Stroke Certification (required for MS/Tele)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
  • State License (Primary Source Verification)
  • NURSYS Verification (for all RNs)
  • Pass/Fail Testing on Day 1 (Cardiac Arrhythmia and Medication Dosage Calculation) – Two attempts allowed
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement

Testing & Special Requirements

  • Must pass arrhythmia and medication tests on the first day
  • Shaving may be required to pass fit testing; failure to comply results in failure of fit test
  • Attendance Policy: Missing more than two shifts in a 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may lead to contract review/cancellation

Health & Compliance Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: Within 3 months of start (various accepted tests)
  • Immunizations:
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or approved exemption
    • Hepatitis B: Vaccine series, positive titer, or declination
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or approved exemption
    • Flu Seasonal Vaccination or Declination (seasonal requirement)
    • COVID-19: Dose 1 and 2 required or declination form
  • Drug Testing: Within 60 days of start (10 panel + Oxy + Marijuana)
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required within 1 year if respirator use is needed

Background & Documentation

  • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Education Verification: Highest level of education verified (Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate for RNs)
  • Social Security Card: Required if used on I9
  • Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service
  • Employment Application: Required
  • Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually
  • References: Required (2 references within 2 years for this facility)

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must comply with all facility-specific policies and documentation requirements.
  • Candidates will be allowed to test out of Epic system training.
  • Moderate Sedation Test may be required for some units (not specified for MS/Tele).
  • No block scheduling accommodations; weekend shifts as needed.
  • Locals within 75 miles are not accepted for this travel position.

This position is suitable for RNs with at least 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry, who hold the required certifications and can meet the testing and health requirements. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
