Description

Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position

Location: Bolivia, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Required Experience & Certifications

  • Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years required
  • Prior Travel Experience: Travel experience is required
  • Certifications:
    • ARRT MR (Magnetic Resonance)
    • ARRT R (Radiography)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Work Setting & Skills

  • Work Settings:

    • Adult Acute Care
    • Adult Outpatient
    • ER/Trauma
  • Imaging Areas:

    • Abdomen and Pelvis (including MRA, MRV, MRCP)
    • Head and Neck (Brain, Cranial Nerves, MRA, MRV)
    • Musculoskeletal (foot, hand, hip, knee, shoulder, etc.)
    • Spine (Cervical, Lumbar, Thoracic, Sacrum/coccyx)
  • Equipment:

    • GE 1.5T 450W scanner
    • GE 1.5T Artist scanner
    • Phillips Physiological Monitors
    • PACS
  • Special Imaging Procedures:

    • CINE (Cerebrospinal fluid flow study)
    • Diffusion (non-brain)
    • Gradient Echo Imaging
    • Image post-processing (ADC mapping, subtraction)
    • Maximum intensity projection (MIP)
    • Multiplanar reconstruction (MPR)
    • Peripheral Magnetic resonance angiography (Iliac, runoff)
    • Spin Echo Images
    • Surface Coils
    • T-1 and T-2 Weighted Images
  • Professional Skills:

    • Isolation Precautions
    • Preparation and/or administration of contrast media
    • Starting Peripheral IVs

Preferred Skills & Certifications

  • Experience in Adult ICU, Pediatric Acute Care, Pediatric Outpatient
  • Chest imaging including Breast
  • Experience with Phillips equipment
  • Perfusion imaging
  • Trauma spine imaging

Schedule & Shift Details

  • Shift: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 10:30 PM
  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
  • Call Requirement: None
  • Float Requirement: None
  • Weekend Requirement: Every Sunday

Patient Population & Procedures

  • General community hospital with cases including musculoskeletal, neurological, and body imaging
  • General MRI exams
  • Some anesthesia cases (no biopsies or invasive procedures in MRI)

Orientation & Dress Code

  • Unit Orientation: 36 hours
  • Scrubs: Royal Blue

Systems Used

  • SBAR communication
  • EPIC documentation system

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • Criminal background checks within 90 days for all locations lived in the last 7 years
  • Education verification for highest degree earned specific to profession
  • State-specific healthcare personnel registry and medical assistance exclusion searches within 90 days prior to start
  • Drug testing within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative result required)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (or within 30 days if past positive TB)
  • Fit mask testing (N95 or PAPR training) required
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (titer or declination form)
    • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
  • TB testing: PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 1 year; additional requirements if positive

Additional Requirements

  • Radiation badge required for Radiology staff as applicable
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Color blind testing within 1 year of start
  • Competency exams and certifications as required by unit
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and agreements prior to start
  • References: 2 professional references within 3 years for travel and acute care allied/per diem staff

This position is ideal for experienced Radiology/Cardiology technologists with prior travel experience looking for a 13-week travel contract in North Carolina with a reputable healthcare system.
