Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (Nights)

Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Shift: Nights (Monday - Thursday, 9:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Yes, every other weekend
• On-call: No
• Floating: Yes, must float within scope to meet facility needs or between like units
• Block Scheduling: Open to accommodating
• Locals Accepted: No (50-mile radius rule from main campus)
• Pending License: Not accepted
• Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
• Contract Limit: Maximum of 2 contracts (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning
• Guaranteed Hours: Call-off policy allows 2 shifts off per 13-week assignment; after that, all contracted shifts are guaranteed
• First-timers Accepted: Yes

Experience & Certification Requirements

• Specialty: Interventional Radiology
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years (highest requirement)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

• Must have Interventional Radiology (IR) experience
• Days, weekends, and call required (callouts for scheduled shifts must be made up as necessary)
• Charting system used: Epic
• Scrub color provided

Background & Health Requirements

• Background check required within 6 months of start
• Education verification or diploma required
• Physical exam required within 1 year, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• Required vaccinations or titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years)
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted)
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days
• Flu vaccine required year-round (medical or religious exemptions accepted with facility approval)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required but accepted if available

Competency & Testing Requirements

• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (annual renewal required)
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) with remediation and retake policy
• Acknowledgment of Pass/Fail Testing required for IR and related units

• Multiple facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be reviewed and signed prior to start, including:

  • Job descriptions relevant to the role
  • Confidentiality and information agreements
  • Professional appearance acknowledgment
  • Staff call out acknowledgment

  • Parking registration (if driving)
• Photo for badge required (passport-style, professional)

This position is ideal for Interventional Radiology Technologists with at least 2 years of experience seeking a night shift travel contract in a Level III Trauma Center environment. Prior travel experience is not required, and first-time travelers are welcome.
