Job Opportunity: Surgical Services (Travel/Contract)
Location: Midland, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Must be certified.
- Preferred start date within the next 3-5 weeks.
- Schedule: 5x8s (five 8-hour shifts) - firm schedule.
- Role involves working on hybrid procedures with both CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) and Cath Lab teams.
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Surgical Services

Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable.

- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): Required for Antepartum, L&D, Mother-Baby, NICU.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course): Required for ER.
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Preferred for L&D (Intermediate or Advanced AWHONN).
- Tech Certification Verification: Required within 30 days of start for applicable Allied/Non-RN roles (e.g., Cath Lab Tech, CT Tech, CVOR Tech, MRI Tech, etc.).
- State License Verification: Required within 30 days of start for all applicable roles.
- NURSYS Verification: Required within 30 days for RN, LPN/LVN, AP.
- NIH Stroke Certification: Required for all clinical positions (not required for Allied).
- Other certifications such as CHEMO, ENPC, and others may be required as applicable based on job description or facility needs.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 10-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start, including SSN trace and checks for all locations lived/worked.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
- Education verification required for Cath Lab, CVOR, L&D RN.
- State-specific background checks for Texas (DPS Criminal History, Employee Misconduct Registry, Employability Status Check) required within 30 days prior to start.
- Confidentiality and security agreements, drug screening consent, TB questionnaire, and compliance checklists must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract.
- N95 Fit Test (no PAPR accepted) within 1 year of start.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required (or positive titers/documentation):
- TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria) within 10 years.
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months.
- Rubeola (Measles) - positive titer or 2 vaccines.
- Mumps - positive titer or 2 vaccines.
- Rubella - positive titer or 2 vaccines.
- Hepatitis B - positive titer or series (3 doses).
- Varicella - positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history of chickenpox.
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; additional onsite drug screen during orientation.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or agency declination required October 1 - March 31 (masking may be required if declined).
Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable.
- General Competency Exam required within 1 year of start.
- Age-Specific Competency Exam required within 1 year of start.
Additional Notes
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents prior to start.
- References: 2 references required within 3 years of start.
- Copy of resume/application required.
- Skills checklist required and must be updated annually.
