Position Details

• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7 PM - 7 AM)
• Work Schedule: Full-time

Patient Population & Unit Type

• Adult and Pediatric patients
• Designated for Stroke, STEMI, Trauma, Resuscitation
• Regional Advanced Cardiac hospital with high acuity patients

Job Summary

• Practice independently in a similar clinical setting
• Provide routine and complex nursing care
• Manage clinical contingencies and long-range care plans
• Delegate and assign tasks to other care providers as needed
• Meet organizational competencies for leadership and nursing standards
• Provide nursing care following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitor side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers

Requirements

Education & Licensure

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Current RN license in Texas or compact state
• Current certifications required:

  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • PALS (AHA)
  • TNCC

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred

Orientation & Competency

• New experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days
• Precepted onboarding with competency validations specific to Emergency Department
• Newly licensed RNs may participate in residency or specific orientation programs
• Completion of annual competency verifications required

Contract Length

• 13 weeks
