Job Requirements

• Licensure: Must have an active Hawaii nursing license by the start of the assignment. Travelers without a current Hawaii license must apply immediately upon acceptance of the offer.
• Certifications: BLS required. ACLS is not required for this unit unless mandated by the agency.
• Experience: 2 to 10 years of nursing experience required.
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.

Job Details

• Schedule: Varied shifts (to be determined), 36 hours per week after the first full week of orientation.
• Shift Flexibility: Must be flexible with shift lengths and days; no guarantee of hours or shift preference.
• Unit: Transitional Care Unit (TCU), 32 beds.
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:

  • Day: 1 nurse to 8 patients with 1 aide per 6 patients
  • Night: 1 nurse to 8 patients
• Floating: May float to Medical-Surgical and Surgical Pediatrics units.
• Equipment Used: Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes, tube feeding, NG/G-Tubes, trach care, PICC/PORT.
• Dress Code: Professional nursing attire.
• Orientation: Department-specific training and orientation provided for each unit.

Additional Information

• Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.
• Proof of flu vaccination or an approved medical/religious exemption required prior to contract start. Flu vaccination can be administered during employee health clearance appointment.
