Description

Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology (Travel/Contract)

Location: Edmonds, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Cath Lab)
  • Required Experience: Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience
  • Open to first-time travelers
  • Must be willing to float to other facilities within the system
  • Call required (likely Tuesday or Wednesday off depending on schedule)
  • Patient diagnoses include Acute MI, Interventional, Pre/Post-procedural care

Key Responsibilities & Procedures

  • Cardiac Catheterization
  • Procedure Sedation
  • Blood/Blood Products Administration
  • Cardioversion / Defibrillation
  • Sheath Removal
  • PICC/Central Lines
  • Port-A-Cath/Vascular Device Access and Care
  • Triple Lumen Catheter management
  • Biopsies (GI/GU/Renal, Peripheral Vascular)
  • Circulate, Scrub, Record during procedures

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Other certifications may be required based on clinical track (e.g., PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, NIH Stroke Certification) but ACLS & BLS are mandatory

Licensure

  • Active Washington State license or compact license accepted
  • If license is in process, must provide application date and estimated issue date

Staffing Ratios

  • 1:1 patient care ratio

Prior Travel Experience

  • Prior travel experience is not required (1st timers are welcome)

Floating Policy

  • Floating to other Providence facilities within a reasonable distance is required

Health & Compliance Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit mask test required annually (3M 1860, 1860S, 1870+ masks accepted)
  • Immunizations and screenings required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
    • COVID vaccine or declination
  • 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Respiratory Safety clearance required annually for travel candidates

Background & Verification

  • Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Education verification required for all candidates
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
  • Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting (6 months for CNAs)
  • State-specific searches and registry checks as applicable (Washington state patrol, OBRA registry for CNAs)

Training & Competency Requirements

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Specialty-specific competency exams and skills checklists (updated annually)
  • Providence WorkRamp modules (mandatory pre-start and annual regulatory modules)
  • Epic training modules may be required depending on region and facility
  • Color blindness testing if required by unit

Additional Notes

  • All previous permanent employees of any Providence affiliated facility must have a minimum 3-month separation before qualifying for a travel position
  • Active compact license is honored at all Swedish facilities
  • Badge photo required for badge issuance
  • Must comply with Providence floating policy acknowledgment
