Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract
Location: Lansing, Michigan

Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract

- On Call: No
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, 3 weekends (Friday-Sunday) per 4-week schedule. May be scheduled for 1 to all 3 weekend days.
- Floating: Yes, may float to Pediatrics.
- Unit Info:
- Level 1 Trauma Center, Stroke Center, Heart Center, and Pediatric Emergency Department.
- High patient ratios (typically 1:5-6, can be up to 1:8 during busy times or holidays).
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience (Level I trauma experience required).
- Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
- EPIC charting experience.
- Must have Level I trauma experience.
- Must agree to work 3 weekends per 4-week schedule.
Preferred Experience
- Unit accepts first-time travelers.
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration.
- Triage experience.
Required Certifications
- Current State Nursing License (Michigan).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association.
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) by AHA.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or ATCN as a substitute.
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) - preferred for ER placements.
- NIH Stroke Certification.
Additional Requirements
- Must have Level I trauma experience.
- Must acknowledge and be prepared for high patient ratios.
- Modules related to orientation and unit-specific training are required but not billable (approx. 5 hours).
- Must submit Return to Office (RTO) documentation at time of submittal; no late submissions accepted.
- Background checks and verifications required within specified timeframes (e.g., within 30 days of assignment start).
- Physical exam required within 12 months of start, noting latex sensitivity.
- Fit mask OSHA Respirator Form must be completed at least 1 week prior to start; fit testing done onsite.
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire annually.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity or vaccination.
- Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series or declination.
- Varicella immunity or vaccination.
- 10-panel drug screen with THC within 30 days of start (medical marijuana cards or dilute screens not accepted).
- Flu vaccination required during flu season or signed declination.
Documentation & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License/State ID required and must be current throughout assignment.
- Social Security Card required.
- E-Verify compliance required.
- Background checks including criminal history, sex offender registry, education verification, and others as applicable.
- Education verification of highest level required.
- References: 2 previous employer references required.
- Resume with 7-year work history required.
- Skills checklist and competency exams required.
- Facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be completed prior to start.
Prior Travel Experience
- Not explicitly required. First-time travelers are accepted/preferred.
