Description

Radiation Therapist - Radiation Oncology

Location: Grand Forks, North Dakota
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

The Radiation Therapist treats cancer patients using x-rays, responsible for precise patient positioning to deliver radiation accurately to the targeted area.

Work Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • No weekend work

Responsibilities

  • Deliver radiation therapy treatments according to physician prescription and standard procedures
  • Precisely position patients relative to radiation beam and treatment area
  • Observe and assess patients for clinical changes and report complications
  • Apply principles of radiation physics, interactions, and protection (wear radiation film badge)
  • Complete Quality Assurance tracking and maintain records
  • Perform pain assessments and take appropriate actions
  • Other duties as needed to support the department

Required Certifications

  • Radiation Therapy Certification from North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners (prior to start)
  • ARRT Certification (within 6 months of start)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (prior to start)
  • ND Conditional/Temporary permit accepted prior to start

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiation Oncology specialty
  • Recent travel experience required; preferably 3 completed travel assignments
  • Epic experience required

Licensure

  • North Dakota license required
