Description

Radiation Therapist - Radiation Oncology

Location: Grand Forks, North Dakota
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

The Radiation Therapist treats cancer patients using x-rays, responsible for precise patient positioning to deliver radiation accurately to the targeted area.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
No weekend work

Responsibilities

Deliver radiation therapy treatments according to physician prescription and standard procedures
Precisely position patients relative to radiation beam and treatment area
Observe and assess patients for clinical changes and report complications
Apply principles of radiation physics, interactions, and protection (wear radiation film badge)
Complete Quality Assurance tracking and maintain records
Perform pain assessments and take appropriate actions
Other duties as needed to support the department

Required Certifications

Radiation Therapy Certification from North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners (prior to start)
ARRT Certification (within 6 months of start)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (prior to start)
ND Conditional/Temporary permit accepted prior to start

Experience Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiation Oncology specialty
Recent travel experience required; preferably 3 completed travel assignments
Epic experience required

Licensure

North Dakota license required
