Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Med/Surg Telemetry)

Location: Warrensville Heights, Ohio

Job Details

• Shift: Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Specialty: Med/Surg Telemetry
• Experience Required: Minimum of 18 months recent and permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience (highest requirement)
• Licensing: Must have a permanent Ohio nursing license or a compact state license in hand
• Certifications Required:

  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Additional Requirements:

  • Must work at least every other holiday
  • ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate pass required during orientation
  • PBDS Assessment waived

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks including:

  • FCRA compliant 7-year search
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM (monthly)
  • HHS/OIG (monthly)
  • Fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) within 12 months, updated annually
• Education verification (required for all candidates)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam (required for new candidates)
• Fit mask test (3M N95) within 12 months, updated annually
• Immunizations and health requirements:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination
  • Varicella vaccinations or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
• Drug testing: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted)

Competencies & Testing

• Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Pass/fail ECG and medication testing during orientation (SafeMedicate)
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement (annual)
• Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required for all nursing positions except OR

References & Work History

• Two professional references required from employment within one year of start (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)
• Employment application must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in an acute care setting similar to the assignment
• Skills checklist required annually

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete all required online training modules prior to clearance to start
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract; candidates can start with results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start
• Candidates must be prepared to complete ECG rhythm recognition and SafeMedicate testing during orientation
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position

This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs licensed in Ohio or a compact state, seeking a 13-week travel assignment with night shifts.
