Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (OR RN)

- Total Staffed Beds: 22
- Shift: 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday
- On-Call: Yes, 8 days including a 3-day weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Weekend Requirement: On-call weekends required
- Float: Position floats between surgical services units and may assist other departments within scope
- Patient Ratios:
- Pre-op: 1:3
- PACU: 1:2
- OR: 1:1
- Surgical Services Covered: OBGYN, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Endoscopy, ENT
- Scrub Color: Any (OR provides scrubs)
- Charting System: Epic
- Parking: No fee
- 48-hour shifts: Not approved

- Years of Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years (1st timers accepted)

Job Responsibilities
- Cover all surgical departments including pre-op, post-op, circulator, PACU, and endoscopy
- Float between units within surgical services and assist other departments as needed within scope
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy) - if applicable
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - if applicable
- IV Certification (for LVN/LPN/Other) - if applicable
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - if applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification - if applicable
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - if applicable
- State License: Must have a valid RN license for Montana and NURSYS verification required

Required Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Competency Exams relevant to specialty/unit
- Color Blind Testing (if specifically requested)
- Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring Assessment or valid EFM certification for Labor & Delivery RNs
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start (signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO)
- Fit Mask test (N95 or equivalent) - must be current within 1 year; annual updates required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months; annual updates required
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity via vaccines or positive titer (declination accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (special rules for Alaska placements)
- Varicella immunity via vaccines or positive titer (declination accepted)
- 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests; marijuana panel excluded)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination
Background and Documentation Requirements
- Background Check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- E-Verify attestation required
- Social Security Card and Government-Issued Photo ID required
- Education Verification (nursing degree verification required)
- Employment Application covering last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
- Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Skills Checklist updated annually (if applicable)
- State-specific searches and registry checks as required (e.g., Washington State Patrol Search if applicable)
Facility Specific Requirements
- Float Policy Acknowledgement: Candidate may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
