Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Experience Requirements
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year
- 1st time travelers accepted
- Prior travel experience: Not required
Patient Population
- Adults to Geriatrics
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
Clinical Skills & Work Setting
- Experience with Post MI, Heart Failure, Arrhythmias, Chest Pain, Peripheral Vascular Disease
- Peritoneal Dialysis
- Telemetry, EKG, Doppler
Unit & Work Details
- Nurse to patient ratio: 1:5
- Unit size: 16 beds, average daily census of 16
- Unit systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
- Return to Orientation (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Weekend shifts: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Floating: Yes, to other Cardiac Telemetry or other units as needed
- Call requirements: None
- Holiday work: Required to work major holidays during assignment (see details below)

Compliance & Screening
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may push start by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Clinical screen required to determine clinical fit before final manager approval
Required Documents & Verifications
- Valid State License (Georgia)
- Background Check (including education verification) within 30 days of start
- Education Verification (degree related to specialty)
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, no pending results allowed
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
- Immunizations:
- Rubeola (Measles) - 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Mumps - 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Rubella - 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Flu Vaccination or Declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
Competency Exams Required
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Color Blind Testing
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (3 attempts allowed; failure results in cancellation)
- General Competency Exam
Additional Notes
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Number of Non-Billable Orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
- Candidate must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
