Patient Population & Unit Details

• Patient Diagnoses: All cancer diagnoses, including hematology malignant and non-malignant conditions
• Unit Focus: Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy administration

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Identification: I9, Driver’s License/State ID
• Background Checks:

  • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks upon hire
  • Education verification (highest level)
• Licensure Verification:

  • Primary source online verification
  • NURSYS verification for RN
• Skills & Competencies:

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score)
  • Color Blind Testing (online acceptable)
  • Unit-specific Skills Checklist (annual)
• Orientation: Must review and sign orientation packet and safety manual acknowledgment

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
• CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
• NIH Stroke Certification
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical Exam within 12 months of start
• Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
• Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• TB Questionnaire (if applicable)
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
• Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
• Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history of chickenpox
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
• COVID-19 Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)

Additional Notes

• Candidates residing in certain Texas counties are not eligible for this travel assignment.
• Education verification and background checks are mandatory before start.
• Prior travel experience is explicitly required for this role.

This position is ideal for experienced Oncology RNs with travel experience who are certified in chemotherapy administration and comfortable working in an outpatient chemo setting using Epic for charting.
