Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Titusville, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
  • Patient Ratio: Experience with 1:6 patient ratio required
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Float: Floating required within scope of practice
  • Orientation: Mandatory 5 shifts (36-40 hours) during clinical orientation week
  • Local Travel: No local candidates; must live more than 30 miles from facility
  • Additional Experience:
    • Rapid Response team experience required
    • Total joints experience required
  • Schedule: No block scheduling allowed
  • Return to Office (RTO): No RTO during first or last week of assignment
  • Call Outs: 3 call outs result in termination
  • Shift Change Notice:
    • 48 hours notice: refusal may forfeit guaranteed hours
    • 1 week or more notice: refusal may result in termination
  • Holidays:
    • If 1-2 holidays fall within assignment: work 1 evening and 1 holiday
    • If 3 holidays fall within assignment: work 1 evening and 2 holidays

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (required for all RNs except PACU, OR, Women’s Center, or Case Management)

Additional Certifications (Preferred/As Applicable)

  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Preferred, not required
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – Preferred for Women’s Center RNs

Compliance & Documentation

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • Background check within 6 months including:
    • Social Security Trace
    • County, Nationwide, National Sex Offender checks
    • Education verification (transcript/diploma acceptable as placeholder)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
  • Florida AHCA Level II Fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)
  • Education verification of ASN, BSN, or MSN required
  • State license verification and NURSYS verification as applicable
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (passing score 84% or higher)
  • Color Blind Testing (minimum 80% score)
  • Competency Exam (passing score 84% or higher)
  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Fit mask testing completed onsite during first week
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe
  • Drug testing: 9 panel drug screen within 3 months of start (instant tests not accepted)
  • COVID vaccination documentation required or approved exemption forms
  • Flu vaccine or declination documentation recommended but not required for contract workers
  • References: Two professional references within two years of start
  • Skills checklist required

  • Acute Care Hospital with 210 staffed beds
  • Mixed unit, high acuity
  • Charting system: Meditech
  • Scrub color: Any
  • Free parking in unrestricted spaces

Important Notes

  • Candidates must complete facility-specific job description and orientation modules prior to start
  • eLearning modules must be completed before start date (final due date is Monday prior to start at 3 PM PST)
  • Non-employee orientation quiz and confidentiality statements must be completed and signed
  • Multiple facility-specific acknowledgements and minimum requirement documents must be reviewed and signed
  • Candidates must be prepared to work mandatory orientation shifts and meet all compliance requirements before starting
