Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Stockbridge, Georgia
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Job Summary
- Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
- Minimum Specialty Experience Required: 1 year
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (1st timers accepted)
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:8 (16 rooms, average daily census of 16)
- Floating: Yes, within the facility as needed
- Call Requirements: None
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
- Holiday Work: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (up to two holidays if three fall within contract)
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Additional certifications may be required depending on specialty area (e.g., ACLS, PALS) — verify based on clinical track.
Work Environment & Skills
- Team nursing model: Each RN responsible for assessments and oversight of 8 patients, working alongside LPN/Paramedic and PCT for tasks and medication administration
- Common patient diagnoses: Chest pain, CHF, ESRD, anemia, abdominal pain
- Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Compliance & Screening
- Full compliance with documentation and certifications required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to orientation scheduling
- Clinical screening required to determine clinical fit before final manager approval
Orientation & Training
- Number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours depends on contract length (e.g., 16 hours for 16-week assignment)
- Competency exams required (medication test, dysrhythmia/EKG competency, color blind testing)
- Physical exam, drug testing, and health document requirements must be met prior to or shortly after start
Health & Background Requirements
- Background check required within 30 days of start
- Education verification required (can be pending with proof of processing)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
- Drug screen (10 panel) within 30 days of start, negative result required before starting
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or documented: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu seasonal vaccination or declination
- TB questionnaire required annually

- References: 2 clinical references required
- Work history verification of most recent employer required (can be pending with proof)
- Dress and professional appearance policy must be reviewed and acknowledged
- Code of conduct must be reviewed and signed prior to start
This position is suitable for RNs with at least 1 year of experience in adult to geriatric patient care, comfortable working in a team nursing environment with a moderate patient load, and able to meet comprehensive compliance and health requirements.
