Travel RN Opportunity - Alexandria, Louisiana

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Setting: Critical Care Unit
• Type of Patients: Cardiac caths, peripherals, TAVR, devices, etc.
• Shift: Days (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every third or fourth weekend
• On Call Requirement: Yes, scheduled in collaboration with staff
• Floating: None
• Nurse/Patient Ratio: 1 nurse per 2 patients (with 2 techs per 4 patients)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse
• Start Date: ASAP
• Temp to Perm: Possible

Required Qualifications

• Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • RN License in Louisiana or compact state
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) from AHA
• Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Critical Care or related nursing specialty preferred
  • New graduates may be considered with appropriate orientation and competency validation
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Orientation and Onboarding

• New hires must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
• Preceptorship by a trained staff member
• Completion of organizational and Critical Care Department-specific competency validations
• Annual competency verification required

Job Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care independently
• Utilize nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers
